Gents,

I looking to remove my engine, outdrive and transom sheild this weekend due to transom repair. I have the following:

Boat: '98 Larson 226 SEI
Motor: VP 5.7GSPBYC
Outdrive: DP-S1
Transom Shield: TSK SX-C1

I found what appeared to be the correct workshop manual based on my outdrive through the link on this forum. However, it states the following transom shields SX-M##. Do I need a different manual or are these the same? I have not done this before so any suggestions/comments etc. are certianly welcomed. Thanks!

The removal and re-installation procedures are the same for any of the SX engines, drives and transom shields. Just some minor parts differences that you wouldn't even notice.
If you order parts, order for what you have. And yes, you need a new seal from the transom shield where it goes against the transom.

Re: Vovlo Transom Shield Removal

I'm having trouble finding the part no for the large transom gasket. The schematic on the volvo penta part store says no. 50 and then has a title of block. I'm guessing but could the part no be 3852548. Thanks!
