ok i just got the boat 85 bayliner 1950 the lift does work but does not unlock from the bottom on the way up im thinking is missing a part any ideas? pics of want the should look like in the transom would help thanks

there is a rod that goes from the lift arm on the h bracket on the outdrive down to the retaining pawl.

In this pic you can see the stainless sleeve that is screwed on the top of the shaft. If that sleeve is damaged or the rod is not adjusted correctly it will not unlock.
