Hi DrewOrr! Your post from last year concerning the heads with 13120906 is the only post out there thats a clue to what the heads are =) Did you come up with information on them? I have just gotten mine back from the shop, ground down.. Guess Im puttning them back on, but it would be nice to know what they are =) Previous owner says there from 383 stroker or something.. the combustion chambers look like vortec.. manifold bolts too... Any information would be nice = )
Kind Regards
/DonziRag, Sweden..

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,.... Threads older than 90 days are considered Dead, unless brought back up by the original poster,....
We prefer ya start a thread of yer own to ask yer questions,.... So I did it for ya,...... ;)

The Vortec heads only come in 2 castin' numbers, 'n their both the same,....
Same chamber area, same ports, all the same,....

Some of the 906s came with pressed-in valve seats, the other 906s, 'n the (?) 069s(062s) ? are induction hardened valve seats,.....

You adjust the compression ratio with piston height, or deckin' the block, to get a quench of 'bout .040",.....
0" deck, 'n inverted dome, or D-dish pistons are the usual recipe,...

What they came off of, really don't matter,....
You can build alota different motors, under those heads, No problem,.....
Torquey horse power no matter which motor ya put under 'em,....

Thanks for your assistance!
Well mine are not one of the two casting numbers. No ”Mountain” shape zigzag ... only ends with ..906 , and combustion chambers look similar. The same as DrewOrr wondered about. They are machined and will be tried out, but more info would be nice. DrewOrr has been sent msg, as I dont know how to tag 😬 Thx again Sir! /DonziRag / Björn

I hope you have completely assembled heads. New bare heads are about $500 a pair, $700 for assembled.

Used vortec heads are between $200 and $400 with ARP studs and stainless valves with the valve guides cut for cam lift above .450

The heads came out ok - Good power in the boat, but water in oil... 😢 We hope we didnt get all water out from b4 and will drain it a couple of times more. Both on oilstick and with tiny hose to get lower.. But as I see some drops of water seeping out of the riser I get worried... It actually looks like if the guys that borrowed the boat last year put on non- dry joint manifolds under the existing dryjoint risers.. 0994-100 on the manifolds and the look of dry joint on risers... no numbers to find.. Or maybe there are risers with the small 90 deg bends aft and stern of riser down to manifold that are internally pre- dryjoint... ??? Any input on this would be deeply apprichiated.. maybe I should start new thread on that?
