Volvo ???

I am working on a Mid 80's house boat with A 4 cyln Volvo, Here is the problem the owner has no idea what motor it is . It has 2 solex carbs and the exshaust out let the front of the mainifold. Anybody have any Ideas what motor this could be. I can not find any markings on the motor and it is in the water so I can't even tell you what drive is on it. Any Help

Can you post some pictures of it? Also, see if you can find some carb part numbers, that may help.

My guess is an AQ151. I believe those had the dual carbs. That is just a guess.

The B block AQ 130 has dual solex carbs also and usually had a volvo drive.

There is a bunch of Volvo 4 cyl. engines that had dual carbs, actually most of the 4 cylinder engines had 2. That's why I asked for pictures and carb numbers.
Guessing doesn't accomplish much of anything other than a long list of possibilities.

I notices there are raised #s in the castings on those too the block, intake and exhaust have them. Maybe do some more cleaning and looking for some #s like Don said the carb #s would help, their casted too. Pics would be the thing per Don. good luck

I found the # on the side of the solexs. They are mo121 dose this help. I won't be back to the boat till Wednesday and was trying to get a started and alt oh and a distributor for the motor. The motor went under water for about a day or so. that is why I am replacing all of these parts. Thanks for the help guys

Did you drain the oil and water out of the crankcase, the cylinders, and get the engine restarted? When did this happen? Salt or fresh water?
If it was salt water and more than a day ago, you now have a rusted piece of scrap metal. No reason to buy starters, alternators, and distributors.

The motor is in fresh water. I did drain the crank case and the cylinders, Put 10 gallons of disel fuel through motor and then filled motor with disel fuel and is setiing till I can get back up there.

Hopefully you won't need a distributor, there is nothing in there that would require it being replaced because of the water. New tuneup parts and you should be fine, may want to pull it out, clean it up and oil everything.
Did you look very carefully around the distributor and fuel pump area for a tag with model and serial numbers? They can be really hard to find and painted over on most engines.

my thought on the distributor was going to a electronic ignition. Ok Now dose anybody have a plumbing diagrams because I just dont think it is wright it has a jabsco style pump, looking at it the line off the pump is run to the oil cooler and then out of motor compartment???

oh the drive #s is pznr 27060821
I know it takes b6hs plugs as well
Any help would be great

All I got out of that was it is a 2.0 litre, B20 block.
