My High pressure fuel pump on my 97 Blue Water Monte Carlo with a Volvo 5.7L TBI is going out. I cant sustain any rop over 2500 over load. It is extremely noisy compared to the Low Pressure pump and we have already changed out the fuel fiter (twice because I didnt tell my friend I had done it). Volvo wants in Excess of $250 for the pump and Napa Auto can sell me the replacement pump in Marine Grade for just over $100. It is Marine Grade and the parts numbers support each others part.

So, whats the catch? Is the Volvo brand pump just the name brand, or am i missing something here?

I think if you start looking at all the threads posted the last few days on this forum about fuel pumps, then you will probably find your answer in them. You also don't have to reply to each one. Once you get an idea and check yours out, then ask some further questions.
