Morning All,

What's up with Volvo's coming factory new with a sparkplug that will damage the engine?I remember seeing something about it,but don't recall the details.

Currently have a customer who says his 5.7 is eating sparkplugs so he's going to try Autolite sparkplugs.Best answer I had was talk to a Volvo Dealer .... as I had no source for bulletins.

Re: Volvo Versa Spark Plug

I haven't heard anything about any 5.7's with that problem. There was a problem on some 5.0Gi engines back in 97 and 98, and a recall was done.
There has been no service bulletins that I am aware of about 5.7's "Eating" spark plugs.
What is the engine SN. Without that, even the dealer can't search for specific bulletin.

Thanks Don,

That probably is the S.B. I'm thinking about. The customer saying he was going through plugs triggered my poor memory.I've never seen the boat (he's a back-yard mechanic) so I may never get the serial/model numbers.

Re: Volvo Versa Spark Plug

Your customer would have to Define "Eating Sparkplugs" for a more definitive answer......

Bad Rings fouling them,..... Over Rich Carb,..??....
Too much timing,+ Detonation,..??...
