Volvo Vacuum Advance Problem

Hi there,
I have a 1972 19' Reinell with a Volvo AQ170A with a vacuum advance distributor. There doesn't seem to any vacuum ports to plug it into. The motor runs great at an idle, under a load it dies. I think it's not advancing.
Does this need to plug into something that I'm not seeing?
Do I have the wrong distributor (though I've seen this setup on a similar boat with no vacuum ports)?
Or is there something else that I am missing?
Any help is appreciated, I'm stumped!
Thanks!

Re: Volvo Vacuum Advance Problem

It is the correct distributor, however, the vacuum advance was only hooked up on the 165's, not the 170's

Re: Volvo Vacuum Advance Problem

Thanks Don,
The 170 is stamped on the block, so I assume from what you're saying that it is just not hooked up?
So if this is working correctly, what else would make the engine bog down under a load - the carburetors?
Too much fuel? Though it starts right back if it dies (though I can control that through the throttle).
