Volvo Trim Sender Replacement

My 2002 Volvo SX drive has a defective trim sender. How do I know it's the sender? It was acting flakey and when I felt one of the wires at the sender I could feel that the conductor was broken inside the insulation. Solder it? It's too corroded to save.

It's pretty simple to remove and replace the sender but where inside the boat does it connect and can a new cable be run without removing anything difficult?

Where was your trim sendor located on your outdrive. I have the same issue and want to see if I can figure out if my sendor is bad or if it is my gauge.

Turn the wheel all the way to port and you'll see it near the top of the drive. The cable goes inside the engine compartment and there's a connector there so if you want to test it you can't tell much from looking at it (unless the wires are broken). Unplug the connector in the engine compartment. You should have continuity or a relatively low resistance between the wires from the sender. To check the gauge, turn the ignition on and use a screwdriver to short the connectors going to the gauge. The gauge should move to the full "down" position.

OK, now the problem is -Where can I buy a trim sender? My friend in the business can't get one from her parts supplier. What is the part number for the sender?

Don't hijack someone elses question with yours.
