if a boat origionally had a volvo outdrive, is it possible to recut the transom for a mercruiser? Ive found a hull ,,, 71 model, that had a volvo unit it it but all is now gone and id rather rebuild it as a merc? is this possible without gelcoat/fiberglass work?

I saw an Adapter that would Do That,....<br />But,.. Only Once,+ I don't know Where they got it.........<br /><br />Why not just Glass it In,....... It Ain't that big of a Job,......<br />Compared to the task you're looking at Anyway.....

Jim ,That's an interesting part number.It comes up as a 'template kit-trans' for just under $1000. Do you know more about it ?<br /><br />DHP

I found it at mercurypartsexpress.com<br />It's listed under "engine accessories" as<br />a "transom adapter plate" and has a small<br />picture of the part. That's all I know about<br />it other than it sure is pricy!
