How do you change an SX drive from left to right hand prop rotation? The Volvo literature says easily converted from right to left hand rotation.

I am guessing it is done at the linkage under the upper outdrive cover......am I close?

Also where in the drive line is the drive saver coupling that they advertise? Do you have to tear down the drive to get at it or is it easily serviceable?

Thanks in advance

switch the linkage at the upper box.
and its not easily serviced on an sx. infact its a teardown to access. but never needs service unless ya hit something hard enough to shear it. but usually your repairing other damage as well.

Thanks,I tyhought that was how you changed the rotation.
Every now and then I see a good stainless prop cheap thats left hand rotation I wondered about changing rotation.

How does a left hand prop handle on a traditional single prop boat? Would you notice any difference at low speed?

I wondered where the drive saver coupling was Volvo advertises it pretty hard but I kinda figured it was not all that easily changed, and that if it broke loose then there was probably gonna be more damage. I have not looked at a parts diagram yet and seen this so called drive saver.

Drive saver my A$$. The one in my Sx didn't shear even after numerous impacts that bent and tore the blades of a stainless prop and bent the propshaft,

Boat will most likely list to starboard when running a single engine with a left hand prop
