Volvo SX ratio change

Can someone tell me what's required, if possible, to do a ratio change on a '96 Volvo SX-C1 (3868465) from 1.85 to either 1.79 or 1.66?

Needs a different set of lower gears only. Uppers are fine. Will also take some new bearings and a seal kit, and a bunch of special tools to set gear heights and preloads.
Gears alone are about $650 for the set.
