I have a 20' 2000 Glastron with a 5.0 L V8 and a Volvo SX outdrive. The exhaust bellows has broke in half.
First question is can I run the boat with the broken bellows or is there a chance for water to backup into the exhaust system.
Second, The end of the bellows nearest the hull is fastened with a hose clamp nad the other end appears to seat inside a cylinder with no visible clamp. How do I remove and replace the bellows. Please help.

The drive end of the bellows is held in place with a snap ring accessable after removing the drive. Is it ok to run like this, well, opinions vary.

Re: Volvo SX Exhaust Bellows

Hello Don, First of all thank you so much for all the knowledge you share on this forum in so many areas. Do you know of a loacation I can download the Volvo Penta SX Parts catalog from? I have a 2001 Four Winns with a SX 5.0 GLPEFS. I am going to attempt a replacement of my 1) the exhaust bellows, 2) the drive U joint bellows and 3) the cooling water intake hose. Thank you in advance for your reply. Bruce

You can look them up and order them from Iboats. Click on Boat parts and accessories at the top of the page.
