Volvo SX 5.0 EFI ... couple of questions

I need to replace the distributor in my 1995 Volvo 5.0 ford V8 EFI engine.

So first question. Which distributor will work for this application?

I believe a 1992 F150 5.0 is counter clockwise and a same year Mustang is clockwise.
I can figure this out pretty easy but I am at work and if someone knows off the top of their head it will help.

I was thinking of getting a Billet distributor for the boat. The module is mounted by the throttle body.

The distributor in the boat has the spot for the module but looks like it was moved by the manufacture.

The other question. The V-belt pulleys. Is there any place I can get some aluminum pulleys for this? I have a 3V waterpump pulley. Will a 2V still work? Any one that has had some experience with this let me know and thank you for the input.

Any help is much appreciated.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,....

Automotive distributers are Not igntion protected, 'n can Not be used in a boat,... Period...

What, exactly is wrong with the original distributer,..??

The OE volvo part number is
3854175

Besides it's 16 years old and been in salt water all its life?

Primarily, the adapter screw that holds down the plastic(bakelight) cap adapter. Not unlike most any of its parts, is falling apart and needing to be replaced. One screw came out the other the head broke off(after spraying down with PB blaster and sitting for a day) drilled the screw, tried an easy out and broke that off in the hole, then came out the BFH tools and well anyway....it probably would be better for both the boats health and mine if I just replaced the thing.

What do you mean by "ignition protected" is this something to do with arcing at the cap and drawing any mis-fires to the body of the distributor or something to that effect?

Well I guess all this trouble is what I get for attempting a very simple tune...lol
