Volvo strendrive removal

I have a '06 5.0 GXi with SX 280 outdrive. I think the gimbal bearing is bad and needs help. I have almost 700 hrs on the motor & outdrive. I have a vibration and sluggish start at low end. It all seeems to go away once moving straight again. I pumped grease into the one zerk I have on the outside of the transom, this made no noteable change. I now feel I need to remove the outdrive and see what is going on. Any ideas on removal or should I leave it for the shop. I have not removed it before but am pretty mechanially inclined.

First of all, You have an SX or a 280 drive, but not both. So will assume you have an SX sice the 280 was used back in the mid 80's.

Pulling the drive is easy. take off the back cover. Remove the ends off the shift cable linkage. Disconnect the aft trim ram, remove 6 mounting nuts and pull the drive off.
If you don't know what you are doing, it's always best to have a manual. Here is a link to the oem manual.
