I had the manuals for my alpha one, but just got the 5.0 Volvo carb'ed and want to get the manuals for the engine and sterndrive. Are they online like the mercruiser ones? What's the best place to get paper versions? ebay?

No online Service manuals for Volvo that I am aware of. You can download an owners manual from the Volvo site at http://www.volvo.com/volvopenta/global/en-gb/marineengines/operators_manual/operators_manual.htm

You can order a manual from your local Volvo dealer.
There was a link someone posted a while back for buying them, but I can't seem to find it now.
