I just ordered a 2007 Regal 2000 powered by a Volvo 5.7 Gi SX 280hp. I've been looking for a shop/repair manual. The closest I can find covers up to a 2003 model. Do I need a 2007 manual or will a 2003 work? It comes with a 7yr warranty but I would like to have something in the boat if I break down away from a volvo repair facility.
Thanks

Re: Volvo shop manual

If you do anything, change that order to the DP (DuoProp) option, you will NEVER regret it.
Then, get the OEM Volvo service manuals for your engine, drive and EFI system. IMHO, Don't even waste your money on the Clymers or Seloc manuals. They don't even have the info for the new models yet. When they do have it, expect lots of mistakes and misprints till they eventually get it right.

Don is that available only from the dealer or is there another source? I don't know if the DP is a option on this model. I'll check on it.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Volvo shop manual

I'll wait. It's going to be a long 8 to 10 weeks until the boat comes. But I plan to be ready for it. I'll put the knowlege I've gained here at iboats to good use.
Thanks again

The service manuals will be pretty dry reading without a problem, what kind of information are you looking for?

Re: Volvo shop manual

I just like to be prepared. On my old volvo 270 I needed to do some repairs and I was able to do alot of them myself with the help of a shop manual. I try to get shop manuals for all of my vehicles. Also I'm weird, I like to read that kind of stuff. That's why I have been coming to this forum even though I didn't have another boat yet. I want to know as much about my boat as I can. Between the shop manual and the help I can get on this forum I should be in good shape when I have a problem or just duing routine mantanence.. I enjoy doing my own service work when I can. But the hard stuff I leave to the pros like you Don.
