Volvo reputaion?

Anyone have any luck with a 1988 4cyl. Volvo closed cooling sys. with a 290 Volvo drive? It's in a Sunrunner cuddy. Any input would be great to help with the prospect of purchasing this boat, thanks. Dependability, parts availability/prices? Fuel efficiency etc.?

What is the model number of the engine?
Basically, the 4 cylinder engines are good running engine, cold natured because they don't have chokes. They are OHC engines with some DOHC's. They have a timing belt, and points ignition. Nothing complicated. However, parts are expensive if you need them. Tuneup parts available aftermarket.
WIth care they will last a long time.
Outdrive, well, you just can't get a better drive, and since it is a 290 and not a 280, you also have trim.
