Hi have the post, 74 Mercruiser 302 to 98 Volvo 5.7GI swap the sn are there
I'm trying to install the remote control, where do the three wires coming off the handle go? if anyone has a photo or a diagram that would help my photos are too large to fit
already searched the forums

Those are the trim up (blue) down (Green) and power (red). Used to control the trim relays.

Not sure where your cables actually are going to go, but the way you have it mounted there the cables will be coming out of the control and going straight down, Most boats have them aimed aft and the push button on the control mounted toward the front, not top as you have it pictures.
Install it like you have it layed out in the previous picture.

I just didnt know how to assemble the shifter, the wires just plug in. so that's not hard
That little button i'm told is for trailering. The wire is so long i'm thinking you can relocate it so you don't have to climb into the boat to raise the drive?

One other note. You do realize, had you looked at that wiring diagram for the instruments, you would have seen what the wires were for.

Those wires have to make a couple of round around the control so the wires don't get flexed too much and break. Didn't you get instructions with that control?

No I didn't get instructions just got the remote in a box all in pieces, looked in my manual, online, asked the parts guys, they told me about the trailer button
Ok I will post another pic of the wire wrapped around the control
I have the cable attachment kit, next i need to figure that out.

Haven't found anything that will show how the wires go, but this may help with the cable hookup.

Damm just when i thought Don would come up with something really innovative...Ummm ok you cant reprogram my ecm,,but could do someting for all of mankind...read "man"kind....Do you have a soultion for this remote... Hooked into the 2000 nema that is...

I'm stuck again, Don you said to coil the wire but not sure how....

Had a remote like that TG, it didn't work and you wouldn't believe where it was recommended that I store it

CC, what you want to do is make big loops of the wire and keep it flat so it goes down inside the remote. There needs to be enough slack in the wire that the handle (when installed) will move full throttle fwd and reverse with out tightening up the loops too much and pulling the wires tight in the handle.
The direction of the loops depends on how the wires want to lay.
I think they only have between 2 and 3 full loops.
