Volvo Prop Removal

My props tangled with some rocks last night and now the vibration is really bad. Bad enough that I can't even travel faster than a couple mph. Question: Can the prop be removed/replaced in the water easily enough? To complicate things, its a dual prop. Do you actually need both props? Both props are pretty mangled. How difficult is it to work on this in the water?(underwater). Do you just remove the cone and then go after the nut to remove the prop? (Volvo Penta on Wellcraft)<br />Thanks in advance.

Re: Volvo Prop Removal

I only have the Volvo single prop, so not exactly sure on your Duo. I'd hunt down a Clymer manual that tells everything about the repair on your unit.

It's not that hard to change the props in the water if they aren't seized on. Change both. Are you sure you didn't do any other damage? After the props are off, idle the engine in gear (leg down) and listen for grinding noises.
