Volvo Penta won't start

I have a 2005 Four Winns Vista 288 with twin 270hp Volvo Pentas. While driving the boat the port side engine shut down. The engine did not over heat but it will not start. I was told it could be a battery. I changed the battery and now it will crank but it will not start. Any help is greatly appreciated

First thing is first, what engine are we talking about here? There are several different models around that year and power rating. EFI or carbed?
