Volvo Penta Won?t plane -- Duo Prop

? The boat ran perfect for a 4 hour cruise to Cambridge ? and all summer prior
? Leaving last night started fine went into forward and reverse gears just fine and acted normal while hitting up to 8 mph
? When I tried to plane-- engine worked fine-- =the boat normally planes at 3,000 rpms--
? All of the sudden the boat does not plane now even at 3,800 rpm and peaks at 17 mph
? Again the engine seems fine
? No pining or ill regular sounds coming from the outdrive
? The boat simply does not plane out and accelerate as normal
The boat is a 2001 Four Winns Vista 268
The engine is a Volvo 5.7 L GSI (2000 model Year)
Volvo duo prop out drive

Appreciate any suggestions---- thanks for any advice

My Merc props have rubber in the prop hub that can fail, allowing slippage. The engine revs but the prop doesn't turn as fast. Could this be it?

Hi Kevin, what was the problem in the end ? I'm having similar problems with mine now.

Hope it wasnt major and you are boating happily again.
