I have a 1993 24' Chaparral with a 5.7l engine and a Volvo Penta Duo-prop outdrive (DP-C or DP-C1 not sure?). I have been having trouble with the tilt/trim. The down was working fine but the unit would not go up. I have replaced all 4 relays, the potentiometer, and I have cleaned all the electrical contacts I could find. The unit now goes up and down fine, but it automatically stops about 2 inches from the black rubber bumper.<br />Any ideas?

Volvo Penta Trim / Tilt

I have a 1995 DP-C1 also. I just removed a trim cylinder and had it rebuilt due to a leak at the rod. The trim cuts off about 3 inches from the full down and have to use the tilt/trim switch to trim any further. Can you tell me where the limit switch is eaxactly and how to adjust. mentioned previously the switch is located on the steering pitman arm. Is that inside the engine compartment? Also, does the plastic gear and spline on the top of the outdrive have anything to do with it?? Thanks for your time! John
