I have a 2001 Volvo Penta SX, driven from a 4.3 V6, also 2001. I see where the sending unit is. I also see how to remove it from the out drive. What I do not understand is how to pull it through the transom. The connector near the engine is to large to pull through as is the sending unit it self. So how do you get it through?
Also there are three wires, a thin white wire, what is that wire used for. The 2 large black wires are the potentiometer sending to the gauge.
