Hi all, I have a 96 Volvo Penta SX and my trim is leaking down. I disassmbled the trim pump and the thermal relief valve is sticking open. The pump pn is 3855745 but its the later version of the pump without the manual relief valve. Instead it has an internal thermal relief valve pn 3856111. You can see the part at http://www.crowleymarine.com/brp_parts/diagrams/24430.cfm. Its part #20 on the diagram.
For the life of me I can;t find a replacement anywhere. I'd hate to spend $500 for a new pump because of a $12 part. Can anyone tell me where I can find this part?
If I can't find it, I notice that the old version of the pump did not even have a thermal relief valve. What happens if I just plug that port?
