I have a 2005 stingray with 4.3 and sx drive

I want to remove the outdrive for my first time and probably replace the gimbal bearing and grease/inspect maybe even replace the joints.

what tools, parts, seals, etc would I need?

any advice in doing this job. What to watch out for,etc?


is it possible to do without a stand?

Do you have a real strong lower back? If not trying to muscle this thing back on can be painful. I built a simple stand with casters for my Cobra some years back but then as I got older I upgraded to a professional outdrive Jack. Well worth it.
