Re: Volvo Penta single to dual carb upgrade?
This is what I have in my boat and I still don't think I would use duel carb set up yet. Enough CFM with just a Edelbrock 750. Two carbs are just two future problems to me (carbs have always been my week point) I can never get them just right and that bothers me.

Edelbrock #1410 750cfm marine carb
Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition upgrade kit in a rebuilt small block (points style) marine dist, Accel super stock coil Accel, 8mm Hi pro wires
Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap manifold
Magnum swirl port cast iron heads with1.88"/1.60"valves
3 angle valve ports
performer springs,retainers and seals
CAT adjustable stainless steal roller rockers/chrome moly shafts
Trick flow push rods
Edelbrock true roller timing chain
Crain Energizer hydraulic cam
adv dur int/exh 272/272
dur @.050 int/exh 216/216
lift int/exh .454/.454
deg of lobe separation 110
Crain performance hydraulic lifters
Federal Mogul bearings
main, rod and cam
Block
1985 Chrysler 360 ci (vin # W)
(out of a Dodge Royal, 15 passenger van)
dipped, fluxed
surfaces honed
Sterling pistons
.30 over flat top
10 to 1 compression
Hasting molly rings
balanced
OEM connecting rods
reconditioned upgraded bolts
balanced

OEM Crank
reconditioned and reground
mains .10 under
journals .20 under
balanced
Melling performance oil pump
Flywheel
12.5" 318ci flywheel (very rare)
custom balanced for a 360ci
And a bunch of other stuff I don't fell like listing
If I thought I could get any benefit out of it I would have done it. I cant see a 20 year old motor making anything but problems and not H.P. with a duel carb set up but I may be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time. If you do it let us know what happens.
