I have a 19 ft wellcraft bowrider with the aq131 4 cyl. motor for about 110 horse power. THe boat weights about 2800 lbs. I am running a 14/19 3 blade prop. The kids have been trying to water ski. When I hit it there is a lag on hole shot. I am thinking about getting a 14/17 4 blade. With the 19 pitch, I can over run the wot of 5000 rpms. Most of the boat use is pulling a tube, unless skiing becomes big. Does using the 14/17 4 blade sound like a good idea?

Re: volvo penta prop

Some dealers will let you exchange props to get the best one, if your really buying.
Generally a 4 blade will drop your max rpm but improve your hole shot.
With a 4 X 19 you might get the hole shot you need without having to watch the rpm.
