volvo penta outdrive ID

I have a volvo penta outdrive that came from a chris craft early 80s.my problem is identifing the drive,but the only #s I have are 27156 2b. I do know it had a gm v-8 in it,Please need help.

Best bet would be to post a picture of the outdrive and transom shield.
