I have an old volvo penta straight 6 aq170 that wont give out enough poer to get to plane. The boat was working decently last time I used it. I took it out the other day and I couldnt get enough rpms to get the boat up. In neutral it reved up fine but stuttered a bit when holding a rpm. I was having trouble with plugging off the fuel filter but have since cleaned out the tank (not sure what the old owner put in there but the tank had alot of particulates in it). Could this be a fuel filter problem. I did a compression test and got about 110 to 130 psi (not great but should still work fine). Out of the water the engine will rev up in gear. All help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
