Could install a fuel pressure/vacuum gauge on one of the filters. If first filter before the supply pump then vacuum gauge, and if after the pump then pressure gauge

Most likely your good, it revs up and such

You’ll know next time you run her. Wee word of caution though. It’s maybe not a great idea to run that wee engine for too long without load on her. They struggle to get up to temp that way and isn’t too great for the engine. Tend to wash diesel down the bores into the oil that way. Smoke lots and lose compression eventually

Really....? I never ran it low on fuel. After changing the filter this all occured. It starved itself by not giving fuel to injectors. I have no control of that imo
if you didnt run it out of fuel, you have a leak in your fuel system allowing it to draw air.

During future filter changes or fuel system maintenance just be sure to complete the bleedd/vent procedure in the manual. If bled correctly at the filter housing, the risk of introducing air to the injector pump is low. On first start up after a filter change/maintenance, be ready to give it nearly full throttle to get any air through the system. It will sound terrible until the air gets out.
