Hello,
We have a sailing catamaran with two Volvo Penta MD2030 engines and saildrives. Today we replaced the impeller on both engines (don’t think this caused our problem). Then we went to test the engines were running correctly - when we started the engine it fired up as per usual. Then the start up alarm sounded whilst the battery light flashed. The alarm and flashing doesn’t stop with increased engine revs in neutral as usual. We ran the engine for at least 1 minute with increased revs, however the constant alarm sound did not stop. This issue is very weird as both our house batteries and starter battery are less than 2 months old and fully charged. Also, the same issue occured with both engines, so I don’t think it’s an alternator problem. The raw water is flowing out of the engine as usual. On a normal start up the starter alarm usually stops within about 10 seconds with increased revs in neutral. I would really appreciate any pointers as to what our issue could be. Thanks!

Alarm doesn't stop if just one motor is running, and you have tried it by running just port and then again just starboard?

If it actually was taking up to 10 seconds for alarm to go off then check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. It also shouldn't take increased revs to do so

Bats are new but put a voltmeter on the ALT post with motor running, you should see close to 14.4V

We tested with both engines and have checked battery and also oil pressure. Unfortunately unable to find the culprit. Not sure what would/could be causing the battery warning
