Volvo Penta GXI 5.7 DPS, Question

This is an I/O motor 280hp. My boat mech split and i have to do a few things to accomplish before the season. I need to replace the impeller and do a gear lube. This motor is on a 1999 Chris Craft Express Cruiser. Can someone please provide a link to some instructions on how to perform these 2 functions. Also is there any other maint you suggest before i put it in the slip. I have already done a oil change. Thanks for the help

I have links to manuals for them, but really need to full model number or even a serial number for your engine to make sure it's the right ones.

thanks DON S , I just went out and scraped the corrosion off the name plate. S/N is 4112058325 , prod no 3868913, type DP-SM

Your engines full model number is 5.7GSIPBYCCE

The BY is what indicates model year, which is a 98 model engine and drive.

You might want to look for the engins serial number, because the one listed for your boat doesn't show as a good SN, but the spec number is fine. Not a big deal since it's out of warrenty, but something that might be nice to have later on when finding parts.

most boats have an engine that is 1 year off from the boat because manufacturers buy thier engine packages in bulk for a production run and then build the boats.

Yes, that is a good number, but it's for the outdrive, not the engine.

The serial number on my paperwork is 4012206693. From this could you tell me what flavor my motor and drive is?
