Volvo Penta Fuel Pump Leaking After Engine Shutdown

I have a Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI that starts and runs fine no leaks. When the engine is shutdown the fuel pump dumps fuel (runs down water separation filter). The leak eventually stops. This appears to coincide with pressure side, pressure stabilizing. I removed and seated the filter again issue continues. Has anyone experienced this, and/or have a suggestion on where to start to resolve?

No fuel filter should ever be on a pressure side of a pump, that said , the fuel is not leaking from the suction side. The leak is somewhere else

The filter is not on the pressure side. I just use for reference of where the fuel is leaking. The fuel runs down the filter.

Most likely the check valve of the high pressure fuel pump doesn't work properly. Mine is doing that. Bleeds to 5 psi in 5 minutes.

When I start the engine, I just wait for the 2 beeps to complete (1.5 seconds) before starting. It gives a chance to the fuel pump to fill the fuel rail.

Is your pump leaking fuel or just bleeding pressure? I can replace the high pressure pump, but concerned fuel is able to exit the system.
