Hi guys. I searched the forum and did not see anything directly related to this problem, so I am posting it here.

I added a swim platform. Love it. It has a ladder on the starboard side which the engine can hit at trim full up.

We managed to do this. Bent what I think is the exhaust where the sacrificial plate is mounted.

I am pretty sure this will affect the boat's performance if not make it less stable at speed. We did this while removing the boat from the water. We have not tested it in the water since. It has been only a few days.

Anyway. What is this portion of the engine for? Is it the exhaust? How would you handle this? Can I heat it and bend it back? Leave it? New bottom end?

Thanks for your guidance.

my first thought would be to take it in and have it rewelded.
