volvo penta exhaust bellows

I have a small pin hole in the exhaust bellows on my 280 outdrive is it neccessary to change that out? it is a bellows with a ck valve or flapper in it.

It is just going to get worse. Anything on a boat broken should be fixed ASAP. Breaking down on the water is not fun. I just read a post from a guy that broke down out there. It took hours (with the help of the CG) to get towed to his ramp. The CG tried to get a commercial tower to do it first (big bucks) when they couldn't raise one they finally did it themselves. A 2am arrival time. I am not sure of any mechanical problems it will cause but a exhaust leak sounds like crap.

If you didnt know now you do.<br /><br />Volvo penta/cobra<br />have little holes in the bellows to let water/exhaust gases flow from the water pumping sys.<br /><br />This is Toatlly a normal fuction on these models<br /><br />okay?
