Volvo Penta exhaust bellow

I have twin 1989 SP-CD drives and bought 2 exhaust bellow kits in 2 different ebay auctions. Both advertised the part number as 876631 which I believe to be the correct part number for my drives.
I received the 2 packages this week, one in the Volvo carton and the other repackaged. One bellow has molded on one end "Volvo 897631", both ends are 3.25" OD. The other bellow has molded on one end "Volvo 872974" and "UP ENGINE SIDE". The marked end is 3.25" OD while the other end is 3.5" OD.
Are either of these equal to the 876631 part that I wanted/thought I was buying?

Mike,
I've used this site: http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/ to cross reference original Volvo part numbers. If you use the section for parts lookup it will also tell you if a certain part number has been superceded. I've found it to be very helpful when crossreferencing and shopping for parts on other sites.

Re: Volvo Penta exhaust bellow

Thanks. I've seen that site, too. Since my houseboat is in the water and I am getting parts together for drive removal later this month, I am trying to determine if either of these bellow parts is correct for my drives.
Marinepartsexpress shows no replacement for 876631, which the ebay auctions represented these parts to be.
So, does the correct exhaust bellow for the SP-CD drive have the same diameter opening at both ends? I have received 2 different parts and can't tell which is correct, if either.

You'll need to do some research on the site above. The Volvo schematics are there also. From the schematics provided, you should be able to get the correct/current part number. If the part that is in the Volvo box matches the part number you're looking for, then you should be able to match the fit, form and function of the other part to determine if it's suitable.

I'm not responding as a Volvo parts expert - just as someone who's had to do similar parts matching and trying to contribute to the forum with my experience.

Why don't you guys use this site for parts lookup? It IS the Volvo parts lookup and catalog.
Just go to the top of this page and click on Volvo Penta Parts

Re: Volvo Penta exhaust bellow

I use this site religiously for looking up parts for my engines and drives. In fact, I have a printed copy of the "Connecting components AQ..." parts list in hand (well, next to my computer) and that's how I found the 876631 part number. So, I think I know what part I need, and I definitely know what part was advertised on ebay, but I don't know if either part that I received (897631 or 872974) is equal to 876631.

The molded in number 872974 does not come up in any Volvo parts lists of superceded numbers or anything else. Since it is just molded in, it is probably not an actual part number.

The 876631 that you do need for the SP-C drive, used to have a part number of 875848.
The 897631's new number is 875830 so it's not the right one.

Thanks, Don. I called the Volvo Penta Store 800 number, they've got the 876631 part so I think I'll buy theirs, to be safe.

Holy Cow - I didn't know that the parts list was there. I used the other site to compare prices and part numbers - had no idea that the Volvo manual was right there all along!

I think I'm spending too much time grinding fiberglass - it's affecting my mind!
