volvo penta dp-sm- can i replace the exhaust bellows in the water?

I own a 2000 Monterey 302. It is fitted with two volvo penta 5.0gi engines, with dp-sm outdrives. one of the engines is louder than the other and you can hear the exhaust right at the water line. is there a way to replace the exhaust bellow, in the water or will it have to be lifted out for this to be replaced? (scuba gear is no issue)

also any links to parts breakdown or workshop manual would help

Nope, the aft end of the bellows is held on with an internal snap ring that you can't get to without pulling the drive.

im sure, the gimbal bearing bellows need replacing, if they are the same age. so i will schedule that to be done. thanks again.

thanks don. it seems to be the only one missing. is this not a popular outdrive? i dont see alot of comments involving the dp-sm.

It's covered in the BY, WT, EF, and all thru 2006 SX and DP-S manual.
