Volvo Penta DP-D1 lower unit case

I have an empty case that is in quite good shape with no corrosion. The paint is very sad though. I would like to take this to a high-tech local shop called Advanced Powder Coating. I have had them do other components such as intermediate case and suspension fork in years past with extremely favorable results.

A lower unit case is a different animal with all the shimming required when installing the internals. I have the tools and knowledge, but wonder if the oven temps of 400F might affect general relationships of all the internal dimensions. Thus rendering my F/G/H process a nightmare.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Follow the factory manual for reassembly and you will be fine.

Part temp should only be 375 for 15 minutes for powder

Thanks for the reply. Cheesehead? Same here. Moved from Kenosha to the last best place when I retired in 1998.

Not sure I would go the powder coat route. But that's just me. I don't think Volvo Penta uses powder coating for new engines, even for the OXI series.
