I have the following engine:
Engine - 2000 model year - 5.7 gsi pefs

The engine turns over but will not start.

Ran perfect last Monday when I docked it.

Battery keep?s draining even with battery switch turned off??

Replaced plugs and appear to get spark-- not blue but a spark to engine block

Tried 3 different fuel cells?

Checked fuses

Could some corrosion issue cause batteries to drain-- when battery system turned off?

Could this cause the engine to turn over and not start?

Thanks

Kevin

If your battery is draining with the battery switch turned off, it sounds like your battery is bad. All batteries drain with time, but 1 week is not enough to drain a good battery. Are you sure everything is hooked up through the battery switch?

pretty sure-- took both batteries in for testing and they reported both were good.

could a this cuase the boat not to start even with a strong starter/engine turnover?

If you don't have a bright blue spark jumping a 1/2" gap, then it probably won't start. Changing fuel cells and fuses won't have a thing to do with weak spark.
Have you checked the cap, rotor and plug wires? Especially the coil wire and the terminals on each end?

Was your battery load tested? Terminals clean and tight (NO WING NUTS).
