Hey All! Glad I found this forum...

I purchased a 30' sport fisher about a year ago and it has served me well. When I bought the boat the previous owner made note and told me that the port side engine did not have the lifting motor to pull the I/O drive up and out of the water. Well I let that be for a while, and now have some extra cash and would like to fix it.

I have found only one place that has a replacement motor for this model---and they want over $1k for it! They say due to it being an older model that the price is much higher.

My question--- Does anyone know where I can find a new (or well maintained used) motor for this purpose? Also, what is the technical name/part number for this piece?

Thanks all for your help!

The 240 is a 351 Ford engine.

Yessir it is.

What I'm looking for is a place that sells the motor which is used for adjusting the trim, and lifting the I/O 280 out of the water.

Misread that thread big time.
You might check with NAPA, I think ARCO had a replacement motor.
