Volvo Penta AQ131D / 275 Outdrive - Feedback

Hi Folks,

What do you think of the Volvo Penta AQ131D / 275 Outdrives? Any known issues with these, considering it on a 18 ft. Glasstron Cuddy. I belive they are 120HP.

I've had a couple of the old VP outdrives. They are very reliable. Keep in mind the outdrive does not have power trim, just an electric tilt. Make sure everything is in working order as parts are expensive if you need replacements.

That is a small motor for that cuddy. Don't expect high performance.

Check it over thoroughly before purchase, water test if possible.

I have the 131 and it is a good engine but don't expect to break any speed records. Those outdrives are bullet proof. Top speed of that set-up would probably be around 35 mph. Just check the boat and make sure that it is solid and not rotten. That would be more of a concern for me than the outdrive and engine.
