Volvo penta aq131a w/ 275 outdrive steering knuckle leak

I have a volvo penta aq131a with a 275 outdrive, I have been taking on water coming in from the post of the steering yoke.

There are bushings shown on the parts diagram from the volvo penta store.

However it does not appear that any of them are installed from the exterior of the boat like they should.

It may be as simple as #'s 10 and 11 but I want to make sure to get the right parts the first time.

Any help on what I would need to order and insight to the repair would be appreciated.

Really? no suggestions? My terminology was off with steering knuckle it is a steering yoke if that makes anyone want to help.

There are lots of parts diagrams in that parts book. Post a link to the page you were looking at. I know I don't go searching for a diagram that might match what you say.
That and the correct terminology will usually get you an answer.

Is the water line above where the yoke goes through the transom shield?

It does ride below the water line. I had the same set up in the boat last year and did not have a leak. Hope the link comes through OK.

Sorry I thought the volvo penta store was the goto site that this forum usually refers too....

it is the go to site, but there are similar pages that are not exact. Volvo made sure it was confusing and difficult to find anything.
No, your link didn't work, not your fault, the new forum update fixed a lot of things that worked so they now don't work.

Both of those bushings fit from inside the boat, only the V-ring (Item #4) fits on the yoke. That V-ring was never meant to be water tight, but sometimes you get lucky if you have enough grease and/or corrosion in the lower bushing to prevent leakage.
