Long story short this Boat came in for repairs but the owner decided to tackle this on his own but did a number of things wrong .. He hooked the battery up backwards and fried almost everything on the boat ..
Here is my issue .. The mando alternator that was on it was replaced with a prestolite unit , it charges fine but the green wire that pulses the fuel pump relay is connected to key on power . Now the pump is fried ..

This particular alt is less the correct amount of terminals ...

Can someone point me In the correct direction on repairing this unit .. If the green wire isnt hooked up it will not keep the fuel system primed

Thanks

Re: Volvo Penta Alt question

You have 2 choices, get the correct alternator or connect the green wire through an oil pressure switch and then to 12V.

So the green wire carries the full 12 volts constantly ?
