g'day my volvo penta 9hp outboard was making a deep knocking sound so i tore it apart an found it was the gudegon pin bearing on #1 cylinder. the pin was severely chatter marked and the little bronze bearing had been cut through and also had chatter marks, luckyly the con rod bearing surface had no damage. i was wondering where would i find a replace ment as i have searched the web and i only find sterndrive parts and i have been advised that a local bearing traders would not have it. or is this not worth repairing as the penta is so old

thanks

Not really familiar with the Penta, but as a general rule you must have the model number to get any useful advice.

If you have that tcoutboard.com should be able to help you if anyone can.

Good luck. :)

You are not likely to get parts now. If the engine is worth the effort perhaps you could find someone who could machine up the bits you need. I've got a VP51 (5hp) and that is definitely not worth going to any trouble to repair if anything were to go wrong.
