1996 Cruisers Aria 2420
My fathers boat has been in dry dock since 2007, this year I moved it to a different marina (that is closer) so we can use it more often.
It starts, idles, cruises, turns etc.. with no issues.
The only problem is when you are trying to get up on plane, it vibrates - sometimes a little, other times a lot. Depends how long it takes.
Once on plane it's perfect, no vibration, runs like a top.
The gas tank was 1/2 full when I took it out of storage, I topped off the tank with fresh gas, ran that down and topped it off again. Most of the old fuel should be used up by now.
Doing some research on trim tabs (I'm not a boater). I've been running with the trim tabs all the way up. I figured less drag, learn the boat then start palying with them. Now I'm finding out they should be all the way down when taking off. Would this cause the boat to vibrate??
I have been adjusting the engine trim. This boat has a digital gauge showing where the engine trim is. I've been adjusting it to be at zero while cruising. I did play with this down to -5 and 1-2, did not make any difference on the vibration.
Any ideas? The last time this boat was in the water it ran fine, nothing has been changed since. The prop is new (installed in 07).
