Hi All,
Just checked out this site and "WOW" there seems to be a lot of knowledge "floating" around. HeHe Hopefully someone can give me some advise with my problem.
I have a 1999 Four Winns 220 Horizon with the Volvo 5.0 Gi pwtr. The boat has been great until now. I keep it on a lift at the local marina. It was winterized last fall no problems. When the service tech went out this spring to service it, he called and said there was a lot of gas mixed in with the oil. He said that it was probably an injector leaking.
I went out and pulled the flame arrestor off and turned the key on. When the fuel pump kicked on the right injector dumped enough raw gas into the throttle boby to fill-up that side. It only lasted about 2-3 seconds before it shut off. I pulled the connectors off the top of the injectors and swaped them. When I turned the key back on, the left injector dumped the gas. The right one was OK.
The only thing I can think of is that the ECU has a problem. I'm hoping one of you guys can give me more suggestions before I go and spend $1128.73 on a new ECU.
Thanks A Bunch,
Ron H.
