volvo penta 5.0 gxi/dp in H220ss

Thinking of buying a new four winns h220ss it has a volvo penta 5.0 dual prop 270 hp do you think this boat is underpowered.I am trading a searay 205 sport with a 5.0 220hp alpha,can I expect more performance from the h220 with that motor. Thanks for your help.

The duo-prop will be great out of the hole and should be fairly decent with 270 bhp. I would not look for speeds above 50 though. I am guessing she'll run about 47 - 48 MPH. Despite the same 5.0 displacement, horsepower is horsepower and there are many 5.7s with less. The duo-prop will make up for any low end grunt issues.

With that said, depending on weight and the transom deadrise, she may not perform a whole lot better than the other boat.

Here is some test data for the H220S with a Bravo 3 and 320 6.2. Based on this I am lowering my speed estimate to around 45 max. I still think the hole shot will be decent.
