Volvo penta 5.0 gxi aceleration problem

have a twin volvo penta gxi, the engines start and run but it doesnt acelerate de propelers, and the revs goes only to 2500 rpm... I already changed de gas/water filters, and added gas aditive to protect against ethanol... what this could be????.... engines only has 250 hours

Sounds like the ECM has put you in engine protection mode. What is the full model number of your GXi. need all the letters after the GXi.
