on a volvo penta what should the voltage be coming out of l2 and if there is none what would cause to stop working

13.7-14.4 when charging. Battery voltage when not charging

Could be anything. What voltage do you have on the excite wire? If 0, you lost a diode or have a bad connection.

If you have batt voltage on the excite wite and its not charging, alt could need some love

I have battery voltage at the excite with key on but none at the l2

Don't think you should get anything out of L2 because its for a light. If the regulator burns out then this point will turn on a light IF one is attached.

In my day, they had the lights on the dash of cars and we called them idiot lights. If they came on then this ment hey idiot something is wrong
