engine model # 432bpbyc engine serial # t01310838 Last weekend I took off from the boat ramp and withing 5 minutes I noticed the engine started to overheat.* I shut it off before it got close to redlining.* I waited for about 20 minutes to let it cool and restarted it.* I headed back for the boat ramp and it died after about 200 yards.* I let it cool for about 30 minutes and it wouldn't start back up at all.* It would turn over but never even halfway started.* Got towed back in after paddling for an hour.* Got it home and found the impeller was ate up on the sea water pump and ordered a new one.* I replaced it today, but I still have the same problem.* The boat will crank over and over, but nothing starts up.* I don't think it is getting fuel, but I checked all fuses and they are fine.* Can someone please lead me in the right direction or give me some items to verify?* I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi, You will be needing to check to see if you have spark? Do you have fuel? Do you have compression? That's where you will need to start. You could Hook up a timing light to see if you are getting a lot of spark while cranking off the coil wire then move it to a few plug wires to see if you get spark when the rotor comes around to that wire at a even flow. Have you tryd to move the throttle up while cranking? Also try wiggling the main wire harness from the boat that plugs in to the engine. It is a bigger round rubber black plug it might have a hose clamp on it some times. Also dose your tack [RPM] gauge move up to around 400rpms while cranking? Just a starting point here.:)

Hello. Sorry I didn't realize I had a reply back (first time user of this forum).
I have checked the spark plugs and they are all new and sparking evenly as the engine is being cranked. The compression seems good. Nothing is blocking the air intake or exhaust. The main electrical plug is pluged in and and the two cb's seem fine. Nothing has tripped and I have checked all the fuses under the steering column. The problem I've found is it is not getting 12vdc to the fuel pump relay when I turn on the key. there is a circuit breaker at that relay and it is not tripped either. It as 12vdc (+) on both terminals, but I can't see what is preventing the fuel pump relay from recieving voltage. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brian

I have a four winns with the 4.3 gxi it has a master braker back by the distributer check to see if it is triped. that is exactly what it does is shut down the current to the fuel pump. check it out!!

Finally fixed it. It was a clogged fuel line. Just a coinsidence it happened the same time it overheated. Thanks for the responses.
